Two scrawny poles planted in the soil along a brown fence. Electrification of the rural routes. First came the raidos, lights, and cook stoves. Followed by refrigerators, electric irons, and water heaters. We now have air conditioners, televisions, and computers. At first loosing power was common, but only a minor inconvenience. Today it is totally disruptive. We don’t realize how dependent we are on electricity, like the air we breathe and the water we drink.
